Charity Classic

In 2002, United Heritage Credit Union held its first Charity Classic golf tournament. Now an annual event, the Charity Classic golf tournament has become the leading fundraiser for the United Heritage Charity Foundation. Since its inception in 2002, the United Heritage Charity Classic has contributed to many local children's organizations, placing it among the premier golf tournaments in the Austin area.

Honorary Tournament Chairman

Peter Gardere

United Heritage is proud to have University of Texas alumnus Peter Gardere as the Honorary Tournament Chairman for the 2011 Charity Classic.

Gardere was a four-year starter from 1989-1992 for the University of Texas Football Program. He is most known for being the only starting quarterback on either side of the Texas-Oklahoma football rivalry to win four straight games in the series. Gardere has said his most distinct memory was the chant of "Graduate! Graduate!" from Sooners fans after the 1992 game.

Gardere is a third-generation Longhorn and was recently inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. He enjoys calling Austin home while working in commercial real estate for Stratus Properties.
