Scammers are targeting people with AT&T cellphones in an attempt to gain access to their personal myAT&T accounts.
Victims receive a recorded call from what appears to be their own phone number. The recording says AT&T support is calling and asks for the victim's myAT&T account PIN and the last four digits of their Social Security number.
Once the victim has given these to the scammer, the recording indicates that the number the victim entered was incorrect the first time and needs to be re-entered.
Always use caution when giving out or verifying personal information over the phone. If giving out information over the phone, it's best that you initiate the call and only call phone numbers that you can verify as legitimate.
