UHCU Accepting Donations for Toys for Tots
United Heritage Credit Union is currently holding a toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The Toys for Tots mission is to distribute toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the Central Texas Region. Members of the community are encouraged to join UHCU’s toy drive by bringing new, unwrapped toys to any full-service United Heritage Credit Union branch location from now until Friday, December 5.

New Tyler Branch Managers
On June 9, 2014, Chad Hudson was promoted to the position of manager for the United Heritage Credit Union branch located at 522 South Broadway Avenue in Tyler, Texas. Hudson has been employed by United Heritage Credit Union since 2006, most recently serving as the Tyler assistant branch manager. On August 11, 2014, Sarah Saxon was hired as assistant branch manager for the Tyler location. Saxon has previous experience in banking, business development and sales, and will join Hudson in the management of branch staff and daily operations.

UHCU School Supply Drive Collects Over 1,560 Items
A school supply drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and PATH (People Attempting to Help) of Smith County was held at United Heritage Credit Union branch locations and corporate offices in July. More than 1,560 school supplies valued at over $1,780 were collected from United Heritage employees and members.

UHCF Auto Raffle Raises $53,796
As a result of its fourth annual Auto Raffle for charity, the United Heritage Charity Foundation, Austin, Texas, raised $53,796. On Friday, June 27, 2014, Michael Williams from Round Rock won the new 2014 Honda Civic LX Sedan donated by Howdy Honda of Austin, Texas. The $1.00 winning ticket was purchased at the United Heritage Credit Union branch in Round Rock and randomly drawn at an event held at Howdy Honda.

United Heritage Credit Union Hosts Member Appreciation Events
Over the course of two Saturdays, April 5 and May 3, 2014, over 1000 United Heritage Credit Union members attended a Member Appreciation Night of their choice. The events were held in the United Heritage Conference Center at Dell Diamond, Round Rock, Texas. Credit Union members enjoyed a Round Rock Express baseball game, Beaker the United Heritage eagle mascot, face painters, balloon artists, hamburgers and hotdogs, ice cream and cookies, giveaways and a chance to win one of 27 valuable prizes.

2014 United Heritage Community Scholarships Awarded
On April 29, 2014, the United Heritage Community Scholarship Committee presented $5,000 scholarships to Jocelyn Chambers and Neha Mulpuri. The two Austin-area high school seniors were selected based on their outstanding community service, extracurricular activities, academic performance and demonstrated commitment to the Credit Union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

UHCF Launches 4th Annual Auto Raffle
On Thursday, March 27, 2014, United Heritage Charity Foundation kicked off its 4th Annual Auto Raffle. Auto dealership, Howdy Honda, donated a new 2014 Honda Civic LX Sedan for this year’s raffle. Raffle tickets are available to the public for $1.00 each and can be purchased March 27 - June 23 at all thirteen United Heritage Credit Union branch locations. The winner will be drawn on June 27, 2014 at Howdy Honda.

United Heritage Employees Raise Funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas
A group of 24 United Heritage Credit Union employees donated a total of 49 hours of their time to participate in Trudy’s Bowl for Kids on Sunday, March 2, 2014. The employees raised $2,758 in donations from individuals and $1,600 from United Heritage Charity Foundation. All funds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.
