2015 United Heritage Community Scholarships Awarded
On May 2, 2015, the United Heritage Community Scholarship Committee presented $5,000 scholarships to Olivia Hall and David Forrister. The two Austin-area high school seniors were selected based on their outstanding community service, extracurricular activities, academic performance and demonstrated commitment to the Credit Union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

UHCU Hosts Three Member Appreciation Events
United Heritage Credit Union recently held three Member Appreciation events for over 1,600 members on April 18, April 19 and May 2, 2015. The events were held in the United Heritage Conference Center at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. Credit Union members enjoyed a Round Rock Express baseball game; Beaker, the United Heritage eagle mascot; face painters and balloon artists; hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream and cookies; and a chance to win one of 75 valuable prizes.

UHCU Employees Raise Funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas
A group of 25 United Heritage Credit Union employees donated a total of 51 hours of their time to participate in Trudy’s Bowl for Kids on Sunday, March 1, 2015. The employees raised $2,843 in donations from individuals and $5,000 from United Heritage Charity Foundation. All funds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.

UHCU Accepting Donations for Toys for Tots
United Heritage Credit Union is currently holding a toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The Toys for Tots mission is to distribute toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the Central Texas Region. Members of the community are encouraged to join UHCU’s toy drive by bringing new, unwrapped toys to any full-service United Heritage Credit Union branch location from now until Friday, December 5.

New Tyler Branch Managers
On June 9, 2014, Chad Hudson was promoted to the position of manager for the United Heritage Credit Union branch located at 522 South Broadway Avenue in Tyler, Texas. Hudson has been employed by United Heritage Credit Union since 2006, most recently serving as the Tyler assistant branch manager. On August 11, 2014, Sarah Saxon was hired as assistant branch manager for the Tyler location. Saxon has previous experience in banking, business development and sales, and will join Hudson in the management of branch staff and daily operations.

UHCU School Supply Drive Collects Over 1,560 Items
A school supply drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and PATH (People Attempting to Help) of Smith County was held at United Heritage Credit Union branch locations and corporate offices in July. More than 1,560 school supplies valued at over $1,780 were collected from United Heritage employees and members.
