Recommended Operating Systems and Browser Settings

Browser Settings:
 

Cookies

  1. Click on TOOLS.
  2. Select INTERNET OPTIONS.
  3. Click the PRIVACY tab.
  4. Click on the ADVANCED button.
    1. Put a check mark next to "Override Automatic Cookie Handling".
    2. Select ACCEPT for "First-Party Cookies" and "Third Party Cookies".
    3. Put a check mark next to "Always Allow Session Cookies".
  5. Click OK.

Security

  1. Click on "Tools" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Internet options".
  3. Click on the "Security" tab.
    1. Set the Security Level for the Internet Zone to MEDIUM. (if slider bar is not available, click on the "Default Level" button).
    2. Click on the button "Custom Level".
    3. Under "File Download" make sure the radio button is set to ENABLE.
    4. Under "Scripting of Java Applets" make sure ENABLE is selected.
    5. (for XP only) Under Automatic prompting for file downloads make sure ENABLE is selected.
    6. Click OK.
  4. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
    1. Set the Privacy Setting to MEDIUM.
    2. Click on the button "Advanced".
    3. Put a check mark next to "Override Automatic Cookie Handling".
    4. Under both "First-Party Cookies" and "Third-Party Cookies" select "Accept".
    5. Put a check mark next to "Always Allow Session Cookies".
    6. Click OK.
  5. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
    1. Scroll down to Security and make sure the checkbox for "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" does NOT have a check mark.
    2. Under the same Security section, check "Use TLS 1.1” and “TLS 1.2".
    3. (For Windows 2000 and XP SP1 only) Under the Microsoft VM section, check the box next to "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart)".
  6. Click on OK until exited completely from options.

Deleting All Temporary Internet Files:

  1. Click on "Tools".
  2. Select "Internet options".
  3. Under the "Browsing History" section under the "General" tab, click the 'Delete...' button.
  4. Make sure “Temporary Internet files” is the only option with a check mark next to it. Click any others to remove the check mark)
  5. Click "Delete".
  6. Click OK until exited completely from options.
Deleting Cookies Only:
  1. Click on "Tools".
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Under the “Browsing History” section under the “General” tab, click the 'Delete...' button.
  4. Make sure “Cookies” is the only option with a check mar next to it. (Click any others to remove the check mark)
  5. Click "Delete".
  6. Click on OK until exited completely from options.

Firefox 20 or newer
Browser Settings:
 

  1. Click the “Firefox” orange button in the top left corner.
  2. Click on "Options".
  3. In the Options window, select the "Privacy" icon/tab.
  4. Under the “History” section select “Use custom settings for history” from the dropdown list.
    1. Check the checkbox for "Accept cookies from sites".
    2. Check the checkbox "Accept third-party cookies".
    3. From the “Keep until” dropdown list, select "they expire".
  5. In the Options window, select the "Content" icon/tab.
    1. Uncheck the checkbox for "Block Popup Windows". *Or if you choose to have it checked, be sure to add your FI's URL to the Exceptions list by clicking the “Exceptions…” button to the right.
    2. Check the checkbox for "Load Images automatically".
    3. Check the checkbox for "Enable JavaScript".
  6. In the Options window, select the "Advanced" icon/tab.
    1. Select the “Encryption” tab
    2. Check the checkbox for "Use TLS 1.1".
    3. Check the checkbox for "Use TLS 1.2".
  7. Click on OK button to close the Options window.
Clearing History:
  1. Click the “Firefox” orange button in the top left corner.
  2. Click on “Options”.
  3. Hover over “History” in the dropdown menu
  4. Click “Clear Recent History…”
  5. In the dropdown menu next to “Time range to clear:” select “Everything”.
  6. Place check marks next to:
    1. Browsing & Download History
    2. Form & Search History
    3. Cookies
    4. Cache
    5. Active Logins
  7. Click the “Clear Now” button.
Deleting Cookies Only:
  1. Click the “Firefox” orange button in the top left corner.
  2. Click on “Options”.
  3. In the Options window, select the "Privacy" icon/tab.
  4. Under the “History" section, click the “remove individual cookies” link.
  5. Click the “Remove All Cookies” button.
  6. Click the “Close” button.
  7. Click on OK button to close the Options window.

Safari 5 or newer
Preferences:
 

  1. Click the wheel icon at the top right.
  2. Select "Preferences..." from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the "Security" icon/tab.
    1. Place a check in the checkbox for: "Enable plug-ins".
    2. Place a check in the checkbox for "Enable Java".
    3. Place a check in the checkbox for "Enable JavaScript".
    4. Remove the checkbox for “Block pop-up windows”*.
    5. Click ON the checkbox for "Ask before sending a non-secure form to a secure website.
  4. Click the "Privacy" icon/tab
    1. For the “Block cookies” section, click the "Always" button.
  5. Click the "AutoFill" icon/tab.
    1. Uncheck the checkbox for "User names and passwords".
  6. Close the Preferences window.
Clearing History
  1. Click the wheel icon at the top right.
  2. Select “Preferences…” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Uncheck all options except “Clear history”.
  4. Click the “Reset” button.
Deleting Cookies Only:
  1. Click the wheel icon at the top right.
  2. Select “Preferences…” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the “Privacy” icon/tab.
  4. Click the “Remove All Website Data…” button.
  5. Click the “Remove Now” button in the pop-up window.
  6. Close the Preferences window.

*It is recommended that "Block pop-up windows" be turned OFF because Online Banking utilizes pop-up windows (e.g. Printer Friendly window, etc.).
NOTE: Block pop-up windows can also be turned on/off from the dropdown menu after clicking on the wheel icon.
