Cost of Living

The cost of living in Austin is much lower than many other cities of its size or larger throughout the country, while being a bit higher than some parts of Texas. You’ll find things like utilities and groceries are about average with other American cities, but home prices are much more affordable than what you will find in other cities. Healthcare is below average cost compared to other cities, while transportation costs can be lower than other large metros on the coasts. Overall, you’ll find it much more affordable than other cities such as New York, Los Angeles or even Chicago.

Weather

Perhaps the best part of Austin is the beautiful weather. If you aren’t a fan of cold weather, then you are in luck as more than half the year , the temperature is above 80 degrees.
