Katelynn Bates from Fate, Texas, and Gino Burke from Pflugerville, Texas, were selected from a competitive pool of applicants located across the state of Texas. The committee's decision was based on their exceptional academic achievements, their essay response and their embodiment of the credit union philosophy, "People Helping People." Both students demonstrated a strong commitment to community and civic service, active participation in extracurriculars, and outstanding scholastic performance. Katelynn received her award on Thursday July 31, and Gino on Sunday, August 3.

"Their talent, dedication, and perseverance are truly inspiring. We can't wait to see what each of them accomplishes in their college journeys and beyond."
The United Heritage H. Ralph Wilburn Memorial Scholarship aims to support service-oritented students pursuing higher education. Over its 20+ year history, the scholarship has provided more than $150,000 to help students achieve their academic goals.
