Phishing Phone Calls/Texts

We want to inform our members that we have received multiple reports of UHCU members receiving phone calls and text messages from fraudsters indicating that they are a United Heritage representative and are asking the member to verify certain personal information.

The fraudsters utilize the member’s name, phone number, address and/or debit card information in order to appear as if they are a United Heritage representative. This information is usually obtained by fraudsters when external companies and organization experience data breaches and consumer information is made vulnerable.

Furthermore, these fraudsters are sending Secure Access Codes to members’ cell phones to try to gain access to their Online Banking account(s). Please do not interact with these messages, tell anyone the code or provide any further information.

As a reminder, UHCU will never contact our members directly to verify this information, including the last four digits of your card number, your PIN, and CVV on your card.

These calls are not from United Heritage Credit Union. This is a fraudulent attempt to collect your personal information and access your account.

If you receive a call regarding your UHCU account that you believe may be fraudulent, you can tell the person that you are going to call the number on the UHCU website to verify what you are being told. You can reach United Heritage Credit Union directly at 512.435.4545 or 903.597.7484.

Please note: Representatives may need to verify certain personal details when you contact United Heritage in order to discuss account details. However, as noted, we will never contact you unexpectedly to discuss personal information.
